Tired Eyes >

Tired looking eyes are a natural effect of the ageing process. Over time, the skin loses collagen, elasticity and volume that contribute towards skin around the eyes looking tired.

The eyes, being the most noticeable facial features also develop dark circles underneath. These dark circles are a result of the skin thinning and becoming more fragile. As we age, blood vessels beneath your skin become more visible causing the area below your eyes to darken too.

There are treatments to target dark circles and tired-looking eyes at our clinic. They include tear trough fillers which use Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers to replace lost volume.

Dark Circle Causes

There are a number of contributing factors for dark circles. Some include:

  • Fatigue: Sleep deprivation, or over sleeping can cause your skin to become dull and pale looking.
  • Age: The natural ageing process contributes towards those dark circles beneath your eyes.
  • Dehydration: When your body is lacking the correct amount of water, your eyes can look dull and sunken.
  • Sun overexposure: Overexposure to the sun can cause your body to produce excess melanin, the pigment that provides your skin with colour.

What are Tear Trough Fillers?

As we age, our tear troughs can start to look darker, due to the skin that sits over the eye socket becoming thinner. This skin tissue is plump and smooth when we are young, but as we get older the ligament beneath the skin becomes increasingly visible. Fillers give instant results too.

Tear trough treatment is an increasingly popular method to reverse this very noticeable sign of ageing. The treatment involves injecting a dermal filler to effectively ‘fill out’ the tear trough.

Tired Eyes Treatments Available

Dermal fillers are a popular choice for getting plump, youthful and smooth skin. They’re designed to help diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and other visible signs of ageing. Fillers are small injections of gel, typically made up of hyaluronic acid, that fill in wrinkles and add volume to soft tissue.

We use FDA approved wrinkle relaxing injections to smoothen lines and wrinkles. An important tool in the management of the ageing face, wrinkle smoothing injections help soften lines by decreasing the intensity of muscle contraction, giving a more youthful appearance.

Profhilo®️ is an injectable treatment for the purpose of anti-ageing. Its main ingredient is hyaluronic acid (HA), which helps in skin rejuvenation, hydration and elasticity. What is unique about Profhilo®️ compared to other injectables is its ability to remodel the skin from within as it works to stimulate the production of skin’s natural collagen and elastin.

This minimally-invasive treatment stimulates the natural production of collagen and is shown to be effective in alleviating facial wrinkles, fine lines, and tightening and toning the face and neck.
